Commitment to Authors.
SPE is pleased to announce dramatic timeliness improvements for our peer-reviewed journals. Thanks to our hard-working editors and reviewers, we’ve maintained a 30-day time-to-first decision average across our journals for the past 8 months. On behalf of the journals team, thank you for your unselfish cooperation toward advancing the exchange of vetted technical knowledge in our industry.
SPE’s May journal issues have launched in OnePetro and are available to subscribers. SPE Production & Operations offers insightful papers on the topics of hydraulic fracturing and water production and injection, while SPE Reservoir Evaluation & Engineering devotes an entire section to chemical EOR. In addition, SPE has finalized production of its June issues, with SPE Journal offering a variety of papers on topics including flow assurance, geomechanics, and shale, and SPE Drilling & Completion providing readers with a mix of practical and innovative papers on loss mechanisms, offshore drilling, and cementing among other topics.
To further streamline scholarly discourse on the latest developments in oil and gas, we restructured our author toolkit. These resources are aimed at easing the manuscript submission process and improving reader experience going forward.
