For 40 years Petrobras has been developing and producing the Campos Basin in Brazil. Along this journey, Petrobras has faced several challenges, requiring creative solutions, both technical and managerial. The Campos Basin is a giant that accumulates a significant number of challenges to overcome. From first commercial oil production in 1977 in pioneer system in Garoupa field - with a "well head cellar" used for the very first time in the industry, to recent discoveries of pre-salt accumulations - Campos Basin consolidates its position as a reference for the world offshore deep and ultradeepwater oil and gas industry. This session will make it possible to gain a better understanding of the history and complexity of the Campos Basin and promote the discussion of opportunities on how the industry should be prepared for the next steps such as advanced oil recovery, integrity management and maintenance of offshore installations for operation safety, reduce operational costs, efficiency optimization, offshore installations life extension, and decommissioning techniques and strategies. Through various papers, Petrobras will share the main efforts undertaken and the results obtained that give the Campos Basin the achievement of being one of the most successful offshore oil provinces in the world.
