Normally the singular value decomposition (SVD) filtering is applied in the tx (time x distance) domain, exploring the spatial correlation between a set of seismic traces. In this paper we present a single trace decomposition approach based on the SVD method. This approach works on single traces decomposing each seismic trace based on the temporal correlation of the reflected events. We illustrate the method in the prediction and removal of the ground-roll.
