FAQs for SPE Papers:

Frequently Asked Questions

I am an SPE member, how will I get member pricing on SPE papers in the future?

1. Go to www.onepetro.org
2. Set up a new OnePetro login . (OnePetro is a separate website from SPE.org so you will have to create a new login and password.)
3. On the membership page, you will enter your SPE.org login/password. This way OnePetro can verify your SPE membership and give you member pricing on the SPE documents you are purchasing.

I recently purchased papers on the eLibrary, how do I download them?

If you purchased papers within the last week on the eLibrary, you still have access to your download page for 6 days.  When you processed your order, you should have received an confirmation email that included a link to both the receipt and the download page.  The link to the download page will remain active until your 6 days expire.  If you need access to your papers for any reason past the 6 days please contact service@spe.org.

I have an individual subscription to the SPE eLibrary, how will this change affect me?

If you have a current subscription in the SPE eLibrary, your subscription will apply to SPE papers in OnePetro until your current subscription expires.

IP Validated Subscribers

Domain Validated Subscribers

My company or university had a single login we used to access our subscription. It isn't working in OnePetro, why?

OnePetro does not permit institutional access under a single username and password. All universities and companies must be IP-validated or domain validated. If your institution is not already using one of these methods of access, please contact Rebekah Priebe as soon as possible about updating your access information.

If you have questions or concerns about accessing or renewing your subscription, please contact Rebekah Priebe, Digital Libraries Manager at rpriebe@spe.org

For any other questions about OnePetro, contact service@spe.org.

My subscription is close to (or already has) expired. How do I renew?

As a result of the transition from eLibrary to OnePetro, SPE is not renewing eLibrary subscriptions that expire in 2009. If you wish to continue subscription access to SPE papers after your current subscription runs out, you will need to purchase a OnePetro subscription.
